Humble Beginnings

In the captivating tale of Adriano Farinola and his brothers, we’re transported to the enchanting port town of Brindisi, Italy. Growing up in the their father’s restaurant, their passion for delicious cuisine ignited early on. Eventually, Pino and Adriano joined their brother Aldo in managing the bustling “Ristorante delle Nazione,” a beloved destination for tourists, sailors and locals alike.

Pino’s pursuit of the American dream led him to Houston, where in 1960 he opened Pino’s Italian Restaurant with his wife Lenora. They originally opened near the University of Houston, where the eatery quickly became popular among students seeking authentic Italian meals. In 1970, the restaurant moved to the corner of Westheimer and Hillcroft, when the University of Houston expanded. Adriano later joined Pino’s team as the popularity of Pino’s expanded among all age groups and even a television personality or two!
